Balance method retaining wall
Can we reduce the excavation volume and widen the road without removing the existing road? There is a "balanced method retaining wall."
The balance method retaining wall has a shape that is wider at the top than at the bottom, resembling an inverted trapezoid. The stability of the balance method retaining wall is achieved by balancing the weight of the wall with the earth pressure from the back of the wall. In other words, it can be said to be a method that combines the advantages of traditional gravity retaining walls (stability from self-weight) and cantilever retaining walls (rationality from eccentricity towards the hillside). By using precast blocks (front blocks) on the front side of the retaining wall, it is possible to improve construction efficiency, durability, and other factors. This type of concrete retaining wall is effective in situations where there are restrictions on the working space at the site, such as in cut sections, while satisfying the structural performance required of a retaining wall and exhibiting excellent performance in terms of cost-effectiveness, shortened construction periods, and labor-saving.
